Celebrating Life, Work of Paul Laurence Dunbar at YWCA Luncheon

PIQUA – Join us to commemorate Black History Month at YWCA Piqua’s February Monthly Luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 11, as we celebrate the life and work of Paul Laurence Dunbar.

 

   Karen D. Brame, Dayton Metro Library Librarian of Special Collections, will present “Oak and Ivy: Celebrating the Life and Work of Paul Laurence Dunbar.” She will share about the brief but vibrant life, friendships and legacy of the native Daytonian and writer extraordinaire.

   The luncheon will be held at the YWCA, located at 418 N. Wayne St., Piqua at 11 a.m. Lunch is served at noon for just $8. Be sure to RSVP your reservation by calling the YWCA Piqua at 937-773-6626 by 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9.

​

   Before the program, take advantage of blood pressure and glucose screenings offered by Upper Valley Medical Center from 10-11 a.m.

​

Each luncheon, always held on the second Wednesday of the month, features a diverse lineup of speakers covering a wide range of topics, from other similar informative presentations to local musicians.
