Mainstreet Piqua Announces Full Lineup of Festive December Events
Information provided

PIQUA — Mainstreet Piqua is thrilled to announce a full schedule of holiday events designed to bring the community together and celebrate the season in downtown Piqua. From cherished traditions to newer holiday favorites, this December promises something special for residents of all ages.

Christmas on the Green – Friday, December 5 | 6–9 p.m.

The month kicks off with Christmas on the Green, one of Piqua’s most beloved holiday celebrations. Piqua High School’s acclaimed show choir, “The Company,” will lead guests in festive community caroling in front of the Christmas tree in the heart of downtown.

Children and families are invited to visit Santa in the Piqua Public Library for photos throughout the evening.

Mainstreet Piqua is proud to bring back Santa’s Workshop, organized by Junior Mainstreet Piqua and hosted inside the Fort Piqua Plaza Banquet Center. Children may bring either cash or canned goods and exchange them for Santa Bucks, which can be used to shop for gifts for parents, grandparents, and siblings. All canned goods and workshop proceeds will be donated to the Stonebridge Community Church Food Bank, helping local families in need this season.

Junior Mainstreet Piqua and the Piqua Arts Council will also host a free make-and-take holiday craft station for children.

Additional activities for kids of all ages will be spread throughout downtown Piqua during the event.

Christmas on the Green is sponsored by Fincel Door Company, Winans Coffee & Chocolate and T-Fiber.

Downtown Holiday Parade – Saturday, December 6 | 2 p.m.

The festivities continue with Mainstreet Piqua’s Downtown Holiday Parade, stepping off promptly at 2 p.m. The parade route will travel along Main Street from Greene to High streets and continue on High Street from Main to Wayne streets, with staging at the Greene and Wayne streets intersection.

This year’s Grand Marshal is the MCPAW (Miami County Partners for Animal Welfare) organization, recognized for their work supporting local animals and pet owners.

Following the parade, children are invited to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus for photos in the lobby of the Piqua Public Library.

The Downtown Holiday Parade is sponsored by Miami Valley Steel, Premier Health, McVety Realty, Barclay's Men's & Women's Clothiers and Fincel Door Company.
