Holiday Concert at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center with David Wion and Friends on Dec. 15

TROY - The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is fortunate to have two very talented musicians on staff. The Director of the Hayner, David Wion is a gifted pianist and the Assistant Director, Rachael Boezi is a brilliant mezzo soprano.
On Sunday, December 15 at 3:00 pm the center will host an uplifting Holiday concert with “David Wion and Friends.” The concert will show case Gregory J. Ashe, tenor; Drew Gale, baritone; Justin Williams, tenor as well as Ms. Boezi.
Justin Williams is a lead pastor and children’s music director at Powell United Methodist Church just outside of Columbus. Gregory Ashe and Drew Gale are coming to us from Detroit, Michigan. Gregory is a frequent stage performer and featured soloist. He performs with the Toledo Choral Society as well as the Detroit Opera. Drew Gale has also been a frequent performer with the Detroit Opera and is a regular with the Rackham Choir in Detroit as well as various collaborations across Michigan and Florida.
Rachael Boezi studied music at DePauw University and in Vienna, Austria at the Hochschule für Musik. She is a long-time member of the Dayton Opera Chorus having performed in more than 50 operas and has performed with various philharmonics and opera houses across Indiana, Ohio and Maryland.
David Wion is a graduate of Wittenberg University and holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance and a Master of Music Degree in Composition. David is a published composer of both keyboard and choral works and has had the opportunity to be involved with many recordings of his music. He has participated in numerous musical and theatrical productions over the years in the greater Dayton area and served as director of the West Milton Young Spirits, a community youth choir, for over 30 years.
This concert will be a very special opportunity to hear your favorite Christmas carols and compositions performed by these outstanding musicians. You will hear the Christian folk hymn, “I Wander as I Wander” by John Jacob Niles as well as the tender, “What Child is This” written by William Chatterton Dix in 1865. All three floors of the Hayner House will be lavishly decorated for the Holidays making this concert a good opportunity to tour the décor.
