Information from the Office of State Senator Steve Huffman
COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) voted for Senate Bill 450, Ohio's Capital Budget, which secures $2,150,000 for community projects across Miami County.
The State Legislature generally passes a capital budget every two years, funding necessary improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, infrastructure, and mental health and addiction facilities.
"I'm proud to secure funding for these projects supporting the citizens of Miami County," said Senator Huffman. "The funding received in this year's Capital Budget strengthens all aspects of our community. I know that these investments will have a positive effect for residents across the 5th Senate District.
"Among the projects receiving support in the 5th District is the Tipp City Grocery Project which will attract a full-service grocery store for the neighborhood and eliminate a food desert in the city. The project anticipates the creation of 110 new jobs while also expanding local economic activity. Edison State Community College is included as a partner the project, providing support for its development."
This project couldn't have happened without Senator Huffman's support," said City Manager for Tipp City, Eric Mack. "This funding helps us to achieve our goal of increasing economic development, offering a fresh start for the West Side."
Additional projects Senator Huffman secured for communities in Miami County include:
Hobart Institute of Welding Equipment Upgrades - $475,000
