Troy to Host Multiple Juneteenth Celebrations and Cultural Events

TROY - The Troy Juneteenth Committee, in collaboration with several local nonprofit organizations, will host a series of Juneteenth events in June 2026 celebrating history, culture, music, art and community throughout Troy.
The featured community celebration, the Juneteenth Festival at McKaig-Race Park, will take place Saturday, June 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. The family-friendly event will include music, games, booths and food while celebrating history, community and summer.
Festival organizers are also inviting the public to participate in an opening walk with the T.R.S.S. Marching Band beginning at 2:30 p.m. Participants will gather at Troy First United Methodist Church and walk to McKaig-Race Park.
Additional Juneteenth events scheduled throughout June include:

History of Funk Free Concert featuring the Deron Bell Band — Friday, June 19, at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. Food and fellowship begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m.

Rhythm of Change: The Transformative Power of Black Art 1619 to Present Exhibit — On display from Friday, June 12, through Sunday, Aug. 9, at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. The exhibit highlights the contributions of Black Americans to art, music, theater, dance, fashion and culture.

Opening Reception for the Rhythm of Change Exhibit — Saturday, June 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. The reception will include food and fellowship and is open to the public.
The 2026 Troy Juneteenth celebration is a collaboration between the America 250-Ohio Commission, I.D.E.A. Troy, the Miami County Visitors Bureau, the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center, the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center and the Troy Historical Society.
The events are intended to bring the community together while recognizing the lasting impact of Black Americans on the nation’s cultural and artistic history.
