Ludlow Falls Fire Department Thanks Troy Foundation for Grant
Information from the Ludlow Falls Volunteer Fire Department
LUDLOW FALLS - The Ludlow Falls Volunteer Fire Department Inc. is proud to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the general fund of The Troy Foundation!
This generous award will help offset the significant cost of replacing essential, life-saving fire hose, ensuring our department can continue to provide safe, reliable, and effective fire protection to our community and the surrounding areas we serve.
Earlier this summer, routine hose testing revealed that the majority of our large-diameter hose lines had failed testing and were no longer safe for service. These critical hose lines are used to transport large volumes of water from hydrants and other water sources to our fire apparatus, allowing our firefighters to deliver the water necessary to extinguish fires and protect lives and property.
Recognizing the urgency of this safety issue, our department moved forward with the replacement of this essential equipment, covering the substantial expense upfront to ensure we could continue operating safely and effectively. The grant from the Troy Foundation will help recover these significant costs, strengthen our department’s financial stability, and allow us to continue investing in the equipment and resources needed to serve our community.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Troy Foundation for recognizing our needs and selecting our department as a grant recipient. Community support and partnerships like this make a meaningful difference in our ability to protect the lives, homes, and businesses of the people we serve.
Thank you, Troy Foundation, for investing in the safety of our firefighters and the communities we are proud to serve!
