Miami County BAC Awarded Highest Honors, Four Star Designation

TROY — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Director Stephen D. Dackin announced Ohio's 2026 Business-Education Leader Awards for Excellent Business Advisory Councils. The Miami County BAC, among 10 other Ohio BAC’s, was designated as a four-star BAC, the highest honor achievable.
All Ohio school districts must align with a Business Advisory Council. The annual Business-Education Leader Awards honor Business Advisory Councils who exemplify Building Partnerships, Coordinating Career Development Experiences, and Developing Professional Skills for the Future. These guidelines result in the creation and sustaining of career connected learning opportunities for our future workforce.

The Miami County Business Advisory Council (BAC) is a collaborative partnership between local schools, businesses, and community leaders dedicated to aligning educational curricula with regional workforce needs. The council focuses on enhancing student career readiness by facilitating business tours, promoting work-based learning experiences, including guest speakers and job shadows, and advocating for the development of critical employability skills essential for success in the local economy.
