Miami County Public Health Announces Health Assessment Survey

Information provided

TROY - Miami County Public Health, in collaboration with Kent State University and numerous community partners, announces the launch of the Community Status Assessment Survey, a crucial component of the Community Health Assessment (CHA). This survey aims to gather essential data to understand and enhance the health and well-being of Miami County residents.

The Community Health Assessment gathers comprehensive data to inform the development of the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). This plan establishes goals and objectives geared towards enhancing the overall health of Miami County residents. Both the CHA and CHIP operate on a three-year cycle, reflecting a commitment to ongoing community health improvement.

The survey will be accessible from May 1st, 2024, to June 1st, 2024.  Completing the survey will take approximately 20-25 minutes. While it is recommended to complete it in one sitting, respondents can return to finish within a week.  Responses to the survey will be anonymous, ensuring confidentiality and encouraging candid feedback.  To ensure accuracy and reliability, participants are kindly requested to complete the survey only once, whether online or at community events where it will be available in addition to the online platform, residents may encounter door hangers with QR codes, facilitating easy access to the survey.

Previous initiatives resulting from the CHA and CHIP include the promotion of 211 services, the establishment of a Mobile Tool Shed for community clean-up efforts, and the expansion of training opportunities in substance abuse and mental health awareness.

We urge all residents of Miami County 18 and older to actively participate in this vital survey, as their input will directly shape future community health strategies. Together, we can create a healthier and more resilient Miami County. The survey can be accessed HERE.
