Owners of MoJo's Bar & Grille in Downtown Troy to Retire; Business and Building For Sale 

TROY - After nearly 14 years in downtown Troy, Doug and Brenda Boyle are preparing for retirement and have made the decision to offer Mojos Bar & Grille for sale.

   Before we share Doug's thoughts, there's one thing he wants everyone to know: Mojos will continue operating as it always has while they search for the right buyer. Doug and Brenda remain committed to their customers, staff and community, and they look forward to welcoming guests through the door every day until that next chapter begins.

 

Here's what Doug wanted to share with the community:

   "Brenda and I have been reflecting on the journey that has been Mojos, and we've come to realize that there have been so many people responsible for helping shape and grow Mojos into the established local restaurant and bar it is today.

   That list begins with the restaurant's past and present employees, whose hard work helped build Mojos into a familiar downtown destination. It also includes longtime partners such as Eric Boston of Chef's Warehouse, our primary food supplier for many years; Dean Caven of Caven's Meats, our trusted butcher and friend; Rachel Jensen of RNDC, whose guidance, inspiration and creativity helped develop Mojos' liquor selections and cocktail programs; Matt Bayman of My Miami County / This Local Life for helping guide the Mojos online presence and advertising efforts for more than a decade. And last but certainly not least, our son, Carl Crabtree, for his almost 9 years of service at Mojos, setting the standard in our kitchen.

   Looking back to the beginning, I remember the support that helped turn an idea into a reality. The City of Troy Economic Development Department helped me navigate the purchase of the building at 109 E. Main St., while the owners of Leaf & Vine shared advice on the challenges and opportunities of opening a bar.

​

   The look and character that customers have come to associate with Mojos also came from local talent. That would be David Fair on the Square.

​

   We're also thankful to the Red Men's Lodge for leasing us the space at 107 E. Main St., allowing us to grow.

​

   It truly has been a local community effort. Along with some fantastic employees, these individuals and businesses have helped make Mojos' nearly 14-year success story possible.

   Brenda and I are proud of what Mojos has become, grateful for everyone who has supported us, and excited to see what the future holds for this business."
