Grieser Appointed New Director of Golf at Miami Shores in Troy
Information from the City of Troy
TROY - The City of Troy Park Board is excited to announce the upcoming appointment of Tim Grieser, PGA, as the new Director of Golf at Miami Shores Golf Course. Tim is a highly experienced PGA Professional with more than 25 years in the golf industry, bringing a wealth of leadership and operational expertise to this historic community asset. Tim will replace Director of Golf Kyler Booher, who has served in the role since 2018 and announced his plans to move on to other opportunities earlier this year.

Tim comes to the City of Troy after serving for seven years as Tournament Director for the Southern Ohio PGA, where he directed over 40 annual events. Before his experience with that organization, he spent 18 years with the City of Springfield, including a tenure as Managing Golf Professional at Reid Park Golf Course. His background includes managing high-volume municipal facilities, leading large teams, overseeing budgets, and implementing successful marketing strategies that increased rounds and revenue. Tim also holds an advanced certification in the USGA Rules of Golf and is a certified PGA HOPE Instructor, demonstrating his passion for growing the game for all levels.

Miami Shores Golf Course, opened in 1949 and built on 130 beautiful acres along the Great Miami River, is a course the community can truly be proud of. The facility hosts 43,000–45,000 rounds annually. Tim is particularly excited for the opportunity to lead the course, noting that he looks forward to honoring the facility’s historic Donald Ross design while guiding its continued growth as a community asset and one that the residents of Troy and the surrounding communities will be proud to call home for years to come. He shares this excitement with his family: his wife of 25 years, Meredith, an 8th-grade teacher at Northwestern Local Schools, and their three children: Abbie, Annie, and AJ. The family is deeply involved in the community, with various coaching and student leadership roles at Northwestern.

The Park Board plans to appoint Tim at their December 9 meeting. Park Board President Jordan Emerick said, "The Park Board and Miami Shores Golf Advisory Board are confident that Tim’s experience and commitment to community will ensure Miami Shores Golf Course maintains its reputation as a welcoming, well-managed facility that delivers an exceptional experience for all our golfers."
