PIQUA – Get ready for one of downtown Piqua's favorite summer traditions! MainStreet Piqua is excited to present the 12th Annual Rockin' River Duck Drop and 3rd Annual Jeep Cruise-In on Saturday, August 15, with activities beginning at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Piqua and at Lock 9 Park.
This family-friendly evening offers something for everyone, from exciting prize drawings and live music to unique vehicles and children's activities. The highlight of the evening will be the annual rubber duck race, where hundreds of adopted ducks will race down the Great Miami River for a chance to win $1,000 or one of many other fantastic prizes.
This year's prize sponsors include Bits & Pieces Rolled Ice Cream, Barclay's Men's & Women's Clothiers, Buecker's Furniture Interiors Flooring, and Crooked Handle Brewing Company.
Duck adoptions are available online at www.MainStreetPiqua.com, at the MainStreet Piqua office located at 326 N. Main Street, the Piqua Community Farmers Market, and Readmore’s Hallmark. Duck adoptions will close at midnight on August 12, 2026, so participants are encouraged to reserve their lucky ducks early.
Now in its third year, the Jeep Cruise-In continues to grow in popularity. Jeep enthusiasts from throughout the region are invited to showcase their vehicles along Main Street. Community members are encouraged to arrive early to browse the impressive lineup and cast their votes for their favorite Jeeps before trophy winners are announced.
In addition to cheering on their favorite duck, attendees can test their luck at the Duck Launch and browse the popular Raffle Basket Tent, featuring a variety of prizes donated by local businesses and supporters.
The evening will conclude with a free community concert as part of the City of Piqua's Lock 9 Summer Concert Series. Back to the Blues will open the evening at 6:30 p.m., followed by The Eric Jerardi Band taking the stage at 8:30 p.m. The concert provides the perfect ending to an evening of family fun along the river.
"The Rockin' River Duck Drop has become one of our favorite community events," said Staci Roth, Executive Director of MainStreet Piqua. "We invite the entire community to join us for an evening of fun while supporting MainStreet Piqua's efforts to keep our downtown vibrant."
MainStreet Piqua extends its sincere appreciation to this year's event sponsors: Paul Sherry, Fincel Door Co., Miami Valley Steel Service, Mutual Federal, Palmer Bolt & Supply, T-Fiber, Tsunami Express Car Wash, and Renewal by Andersen. Their generous support helps make this free community event possible.
