Piqua Historic Holiday Houses Tour Postponed to December 2026
Information provided

PIQUA — The Piqua-Caldwell Historic District’s annual Historic Holiday Homes Tour will take a one-year pause, with organizers announcing that the event will return in December 2026.

Tour chairs Lottie Welbaum and Emily Pedro said the decision followed a lower-than-usual number of homeowners volunteering to open their historic properties this year. “We’re really looking forward to next year. A fresh start after a year off can work wonders,” Welbaum said at a recent district meeting.

Organizers hope the break will give residents extra time to join the 2026 lineup, plan decorating themes, and even take advantage of post-holiday sales for bargains. Updates on district activities are available on the PCHD website and Facebook page.

While the tour is on hold, the district will continue its traditional Christmas Eve Light Up the Night luminaria celebration.

Planning is underway for a full slate of 2026 family-friendly PCHD events, including its annual meeting in late April, the Mother’s Day Plant Sale, an Architectural Scavenger Hunt in early June, National Night Out on Aug. 4, the Fall Plant Sale in early September, the Haunted Neighborhood Tour in mid-October, and the return of the Historic Holiday Homes Tour in mid-December.
