City of Piqua Shares Final Results of 2025 Pavement Program
Information from the City of Piqua
PIQUA - The City of Piqua has completed its 2025 Pavement Program, which focused on street improvements in the Northparks area. The program concluded in November following several months of coordinated work by the Community Services Department, Public Works Department and contractors.

The 2025 Pavement Program began in June with an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Curb Ramp Project. That phase included the installation of 71 ADA-compliant curb ramps at designated intersections, along with new alley drive approaches to improve accessibility and connectivity for residents. Since 2020, the City has installed a total of 231 ADA-compliant curb ramps as part of its ongoing commitment to improving accessibility throughout the community.

Pavement work began in September and included milling and overlay of streets identified for resurfacing within the Northparks neighborhood. These streets were selected based on roadway condition and long-term maintenance planning to help ensure safe and reliable transportation infrastructure. In 2025, the City increased the number of street pavement centerline miles completed by 20 percent compared to the previous year.

In addition to the work completed in the Northparks area, Public Works crews also conducted alley resurfacing projects in multiple locations throughout the city as part of the City’s ongoing pavement maintenance efforts. Alley pavement centerline miles increased by 80 percent over the prior year, reflecting an increased focus on improving neighborhood infrastructure.
In total, the City of Piqua invested approximately $1.55 million in the 2025 Pavement Program. The annual program is a key component of the City’s commitment to maintaining and improving local roadways, alleys and pedestrian accessibility.
The 2026 Pavement Program is anticipated to be bid out in mid-March, continuing to add to the $7.5 million investment made into the roadways and alleys in Piqua since 2020.
