Pleasant Hill Lights Up the Night on June 27
PLEASANT HILL - The annual Pleasant Hill Lights Up the Night celebration will return Saturday, June 27, with an evening of community festivities, classic cars, family activities, food, entertainment and fireworks at Pleasant Hill Community Park.
The event will run from 4-11 p.m. and is part of Ohio’s America 250 celebration.
Festivities will begin with a parade lineup at 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Fire Department. The parade will step off at 4 p.m. and travel north on Long Street, south on Main Street, east on Franklin Street, north on Long Street, east on Route 718, and north on Locust Street to the festival grounds.
A car show sponsored by KOI Auto Parts will take place from 4-11 p.m. at the park and will feature classic vehicles from 2005 and earlier. Categories include Corvette, GM, Ford, Mopar, Jeep, motorcycles, trucks, foreign vehicles, and orphan cars. Trophies will be awarded at 7 p.m. The event will also include a 50/50 raffle and door prizes. Registration is $10.
Festival grounds will open following the parade and will include food trucks, music, bounce houses, face painting by the Girl Scouts, nine-square games in the barn, and activities such as pumpkin fish, baseball, and ring toss hosted by Newton Cheerleaders.
Bingo sessions will be held from 5-6 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. in the shelter area. A diaper derby and kids run will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The evening will conclude with a fireworks display.
