Run For The Mums Winners Announced

TIPP CITY - The Run for the Mums 5K, presented by Tipp Monroe Community Services, registered nearly 300 participants in its 45th annual event. The event is held in conjunction with the Tipp City Mum Festival on the fourth Saturday of September each year.

 

   Participants and their supporters gathered at the THS football field after finishing the run on Saturday to await
the announcement of the winners of each age group. Phil Cox, a long-time supporter and participant of the run
and TMCS programs, was the MC for the event.

 

   The top male runner was Jason Salyer, with a chip time of 14:48.9. The top female runner was Lizzy Gleason,
with a chip time of 17:59.3. The top runners received a $140 gift card towards a pair of shoes at Up and Running in Troy, a pottery bowl and mug made by Sally Watson, a potted mum, a first-place medal. Salyer also won a $100 Meijer gift card for the fastest time.

   Awards were also given to the top 3 finishers in each age group. Each first-place winner received a TMCS mug,
a medal, and a potted mum. Second and third-place winners received medals. All race results can be found at

   The premier sponsors of this year’s race were Meijer, Abbott, Regal Rexnord, Premier Health, and Arenstein
Andersen. Other sponsors included: Tipp City Mum Festival, NovaCare Rehabilitation, Up and Running, Repacorp, Inc., Cub Scouts Pack 395, City of Tipp City, Tipp City Police Department, Tipp City Public Schools, Scott Family McDonalds, Monroe Township Trustees, Trophy Nut, Tipp City EMS, TMCS Board of Trustees, Tipp City Mum Festival, and Jay Taylor.

 

  Kathy Taylor, event coordinator, added, “We would like to thank all our sponsors, participants, volunteers, and
supporters who made this year’s race a huge success.” Next year’s event will be held on Saturday, September
27, 2025. Registration will open in the spring.

 

   Tipp Monroe Community Services has hosted the Annual TMCS Run for the Mums since 1979. The race
continues to be a popular event held during the same weekend as the Tipp City Mum Festival. The race timing
was done by Can’t Stop Running, Co. All proceeds from the race help support the youth recreation programs
offered by TMCS throughout the year.

 

   Tipp Monroe Community Services is a local nonprofit organization responsible for identifying and meeting the
needs of Tipp City and Monroe Township residents. We provide recreational, educational, cultural, and social
