Tipp Monroe Community Services Launches School Supply Drive
TIPP CITY/MONROE TOWNSHIP - Tipp Monroe Community Services (TMCS) is launching its annual School Supplies for Kids drive to ensure that all Tipp City and Monroe Township children have the necessary supplies for a successful school year.
The drive runs from July 7 through Aug. 8, with donations distributed during the final two weeks of the Lunch On Us summer lunch program.
Community members are encouraged to donate school supplies at collection sites throughout Tipp City, including the Tipp Monroe Community Services office, both branches of Monroe Federal, the Tipp City Public Library, and Zack Jacobs - State Farm Insurance.
Needed items include fine-point dry erase markers, jumbo glue sticks, college-ruled and wide-ruled spiral notebooks, composition notebooks (wide- and college-ruled), Crayola classic markers (eight-pack), highlighters (green and yellow), 12-count colored pencils, pencil bags or boxes, 1-inch and 2-inch binders, pink erasers, 5-inch pointed scissors, 24-count Crayola crayons, No. 2 pencils (Ticonderoga) and mechanical pencils, pocket folders with or without clips, 70-page sketchbooks (6 by 9 inches), red and blue pens, tissues (large boxes), antibacterial wipes, paper towels, zippered baggies (quart, gallon and sandwich sizes), backpacks, non-Bluetooth earbuds, rulers, TI-84 graphing calculators, and TI-30XIIS calculators. Lunch On Us is a social service program provided by TMCS. Nutritious lunches are distributed Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Tipp City Global Methodist Church. The organization coordinates meal deliveries to designated drop-off locations for children unable to visit the lunch site. Tipp City Schools provides a van for deliveries each year.
