Scouting for Food Returns March 21; Donations Sought from Community
Provided by Scouting America
MIAMI VALLEY — One act of kindness can spark lasting change. This March, local Scouts are inviting the community to experience The Power of ONE through the annual Scouting for Food campaign.

On March 14–15, Scouts across the Miami Valley will place door hangers on homes throughout the region. Residents are asked to fill a bag with non-perishable food items and place it outside their door by 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, for pickup.
Scouting for Food is the largest annual service project of the Miami Valley Council - Scouting America. What begins with one Scout, one family, or one simple donation quickly grows into thousands of meals for neighbors facing hunger.
“Scouting for Food is our largest Good Turn effort and it teaches Scouts the importance of service and working to make a difference in their local communities,” said Jeffrey R. Schiavone, Scout Executive and CEO of the Miami Valley Council – Scouting America. “More than one in seven people in the Miami Valley are food insecure, and for children the number is one in five. Every single donation truly matters.”
