COLUMBUS — State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) is proud to announce that $711,100 has been awarded from the Ohio Department of Development to Miami County to improve housing and rental assistance for low-income families under the Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) program.

"As the demand for housing continues to rise in our state, it's important that those having difficulty finding a home do not fall behind," said Senator Huffman. "Making sure our communities have safe, livable, and affordable homes and rentals is essential for building stronger neighborhoods. I'm proud to see this funding awarded in Miami County and I look forward to seeing the transformation it will bring."

The Ohio Department of Development announced a total of $21.6 million in grant funding to 29 communities through the CHIP program. The funding awarded to Miami County will be used to rehabilitate nine owner-occupied homes, repair seven homes and include a fair housing component. The county will partner with the cities of Piqua and Troy to accomplish these projects.
