America 250: ‘Talk Like a Colonist’ at YWCA Luncheon on March 11

PIQUA – Join in celebrating America 250 at YWCA Piqua for the entertaining program “Talk Like a Colonist” at our Monthly Luncheon on Wednesday, March 11.

 

   Ever wondered where odd, old sayings came from? During this unique, fun program, Ohio SAR 2025 President Steven J. Kaplan, dressed in his colonial attire, will share the origins of sayings like “raining cats and dogs” or “cost an arm and a leg.”

 

   The luncheon will be held at the YWCA, located at 418 N. Wayne St., Piqua at 11 a.m. Lunch is served at noon for just $8. Be sure to RSVP your reservation by calling the YWCA Piqua at 937-773-6626 by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 9.

 

   Before the program, take advantage of blood pressure and glucose screenings provided by Upper Valley Medical Center Foundation/Volunteers from 10-11 a.m.
