Theme Announced for Tipp Monroe Community Service Purse Auction
Information provided
Tipp City - Tipp Monroe Community Services (TMCS) has announced the theme for its 2026 Purse Auction and Luncheon: Lights, Camera…Bid! The event, scheduled for March 14, will align with Ohio Goes to the Movies™ (OGTTM), a statewide celebration recognizing Ohio’s impact on America’s film industry.
OGTTM, a Signature Event of America 250-Ohio, will run from mid-February through October 2026, offering nearly 250 days of programming celebrating Ohio’s contributions to filmmaking. The series will showcase Ohio talent, locations and stories through screenings and events featuring everything from independent films and Hollywood blockbusters to archival and contemporary works.
The Purse Auction and Luncheon is a major fundraiser for TMCS and helps sustain the Lunch On Us program, which provides free summer meals to local children. In 2026, guests will again have the option to decorate their own tables, with black tablecloths provided. Those who choose not to decorate may request TMCS to prepare a table for them, but all participants are encouraged to follow the Ohio Goes to the Movies theme. A prize will be
awarded for the best-decorated table.
Doors open at 10 a.m. for purse viewing and silent auction bidding. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m., followed by the live auction at noon. Galen Gingerich will return as the auctioneer. Tickets are $35 per person or $240 for a table of eight. Ticket sales begin Feb. 3 at the TMCS office only. Cash or checks are accepted for ticket purchases; credit cards will be accepted for purse purchases during the auction.
Event highlights include a live auction featuring 50 designer purses from brands such as Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Fossil, with surprises like gift cards tucked inside. A silent auction will offer about 30 additional purses before and during the live auction. Guests can also shop the boutique for gently loved purses and jewelry. The popular paper purse and 50/50 raffles will return, along with door prizes.
TMCS is collecting new or gently used purses for the event. Donations may be dropped off at the TMCS office at 3 E. Main St. in Tipp City. Gift card donations are also welcome. Businesses or organizations interested in sponsoring a purse may contact TMCS at 937-667-8631.
