Miami County to Host Tire Recycling Day on May 13

TROY — The Miami Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD), in partnership with the Miami County Commissioners, will host a community Tire Recycling Day on May 13, 2026, to help residents safely dispose of unwanted tires.

The event is open to Miami County residents, farmers, and municipalities. To participate, residents must register in person at the Miami SWCD office, located at 1330 N. CR 25A in Troy, between April 13 and May 7. During registration, participants must provide the number and size of tires they plan to recycle and pay the associated fees.

Recycling Rates per Tire:

  • $2: Passenger tires (17 inches or less)

  • $5: Semi and specialty tires

  • $10: Tractor tires

Registrations are limited to 10 tires per name, and all tires must have rims removed prior to drop-off. In accordance with the Ohio Revised Code, all tires transported to the event should be secured, tarped, or enclosed.

Drop-offs will take place at assigned times on May 13 at the Miami County Fairgrounds. Participants should enter via the North Gate at 650 N. CR 25A in Troy. Miami East FFA students will be on-site to assist with unloading vehicles.

Please note that registrations cannot be completed over the phone or by mail. Payments may be made by cash, check, or credit card (a 3% surcharge applies to credit card transactions). Tires from commercial entities, including junk yards, garages, and auto repair shops, will not be accepted.
