The Troy Historical Society to Observe its 60th Anniversary on Thursday
Information provided
TROY - The Troy Historical Society will observe its 60th anniversary at its annual meeting on Thursday, May 15th.  The society will meet at 6:30pm at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, 301 W. Main Street, Troy.

At the meeting, society volunteers will be honored for their service to the organization and a film of the 1964 Troy Sesquicentennial parade will shown.  The film will be shown courtesy of the Museum of Troy History.

The first meeting of The Troy Historical Society was held at the Troy Public Library in July 1965.  The parade, which was held a few months prior to the society’s founding, shows the people, businesses and organizations that were in Troy at that time.

The sign pictured here was for many years on the exterior building wall of the society’s former location, the Troy Local History Library, 100 West Main Street.

The meeting is free and open to the public.  For further information, call (937) 349-5900 or email at tths@frontier.com.
