Teen Critically Injured in Troy Shooting; Two Persons of Interest in Custody

TROY - A 16-year-old male remains in critical condition following a shooting Wednesday night on Locust Lane, according to the Troy Police Department.

   Officers were dispatched at approximately 9 p.m. to the area of Locust Lane and Mayfield Drive on a report of a male lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Personnel from the Troy Fire Department provided emergency medical care at the scene. The victim, who is from Dayton, was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center and later airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital.

 

   Detectives have continued their investigation, executing several search warrants and conducting multiple interviews. Authorities said there is no active threat to the community.

 

   Two persons of interest, both from Troy—one juvenile and one adult—are in custody on charges related to the investigation.

 

   The case remains under active investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
