40 Bands, 40 Porches: Troy, Ohio PorchFest Returns Sept. 12
Free neighborhood event brings a full day of live music to Troy’s Southwest Historic District

TROY — Grab a lawn chair and spend the day following the sound of live music through Troy’s Southwest Historic District. Troy, Ohio PorchFest returns Saturday, September 12, bringing 40 bands to 40 porches for a free, family-friendly day of music, community and exploration throughout the neighborhood.
Presented by the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, PorchFest runs from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the Hayner Center serving as home base, where there will be music throughout the day.
Visitors can venture into the neighborhood to build their own schedule of performances or settle in at the Hayner.
New this year, visitors can use an interactive digital map on their phones to locate performances, see who is playing and navigate from one concert to the next. A printed map will also be available.
The day begins at the Hayner Center at 10:30 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. opening concert by Angela Combs, whose music blends Americana, blues, soul, funk and roots influences. At noon, performances spread throughout the Southwest Historic District, with new concerts beginning each hour. The day comes back together at the Hayner porch at 6:00 p.m. for Blues Breakdown, a group of Dayton-area music veterans bringing high-energy blues rock to the closing concert.
The 2026 lineup offers something for nearly every musical taste. Dayton Salsa Project brings upbeat Latin rhythms, The Gage Thomas Band offers psychedelic blues rock, Muleskinner Band with traditional bluegrass, and Gibbons String Quartet adds classical strings to a day that also includes country, Americana, indie and alternative rock, folk, old-time music, singer-songwriters and more.
Beginning at 11:00 a.m., North Short Street will be home to the Artist & Maker Village and PorchFest food trucks. Visitors can browse the work of regional artists and makers, grab something to eat and then head back into the neighborhood for another round of music.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket, wear comfortable walking shoes and make a day of exploring. And if walking the neighborhood isn’t for you, there will always be something happening at the Hayner Center, making it an easy place to settle in and enjoy PorchFest without traveling from porch to porch. PorchFest audiences are also encouraged to support the musicians who make the day possible. Tip jars will be available at performance locations, and participating bands may offer digital tipping through QR codes on their signs. This year’s performance signs will also make it easier for listeners to follow and connect with bands they discover during the event.
Official 2026 Troy PorchFest T-shirts and hats will be available at the Info Booth while supplies last. This year’s merchandise features original block-print artwork created exclusively for PorchFest by local artist Rebecca Rowley of Lucky Rabbit Curios, with the shirts sponsored and printed by Poppy Field Gifts.
At its heart, PorchFest is a community effort. Forty performances spread throughout a neighborhood simply would not be possible without the many people and organizations willing to make room for music.

Troy, Ohio PorchFest is free and open to the public and takes place Saturday, September 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, 301 W. Main St., and throughout Troy’s Southwest Historic District.
