City of Piqua Releases Updated Source Water Assessment Report

Information from the City of Piqua

PIQUA - The City of Piqua Utilities Department, in collaboration with staff from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Southwest District Office, has completed a comprehensive update of its Source Water Assessment Report. The revised report, originally issued in 2003, reflects more than two decades of developments.

The updated assessment accounts for changes in potential contaminant sources, revised watershed maps and detailed water quality data before and after 2018 — the first full year of operation for the City’s new $55 million water treatment plant.

The report evaluates the City’s primary drinking water sources. Since 2018, the new treatment plant has significantly improved the City’s ability to meet and exceed federal and state water quality standards.

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the full 2025 Source Water Assessment Report, available here.
