Information provided
TIPP CITY - Tipp Monroe Community Services is offering a variety of sports and wellness programs this winter for children, teens, and adults, including Taekwondo, Kids Yoga, and beginner tennis classes. Registration for all programs is available at tmcomservices.org.

Taekwondo classes, taught by Patrick Jacobs of Jacobs Black Belt Academy, begin Jan. 14 and run for ten weeks at the TMCS building at 3 E. Main St. The program is open to ages 7 and older and offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, along with a dedicated adult class. Costs are $150 for residents and $152 for nonresidents, with discounts available for additional family members. Uniform and belt fees are paid directly to the instructor. Jacobs Black Belt Academy is a Global Traditional Martial Arts member that emphasizes practical self-defense and confidence-building skills.

Kids Yoga returns this season with two five-week sessions for ages 4 to 10. Classes begin Jan. 12 and meet on Mondays from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. for ages 4 to 6, followed by ages 7 to 10 from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m. Certified yoga and mindfulness instructor Denise Campbell will lead the sessions. The cost is $75 for residents and $77 for nonresidents, with a $15 sibling discount available. Yoga cards will also be available for purchase to support continued practice at home. “These classes are designed to help kids build confidence, focus and physical awareness in a supportive and playful environment,” Campbell said.

TMCS is also partnering with Schroeder Tennis Center to offer beginner tennis classes for both youth and adults. This introductory program provides a strong foundation in the fundamentals of tennis and is ideal for those with little or no experience. Classes begin the week of Jan. 19 and run for five weeks. Certified professional instructors lead all sessions, and start dates, times, and fees vary by age group. This special offer is available only to those who register through TMCS.
