New EV Charging Stations Coming to Tipp City, Huber and Sidney
Information from the Ohio Department of Transportation
COLUMBUS - State transportation officials have identified new locations across the Miami Valley for electric vehicle charging stations, including sites in Tipp City, Huber Heights and Sidney, as part of a federally funded expansion of Ohio’s charging network.

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced 19 sites in the Dayton-area region, focusing on placing high-speed chargers at existing travel stops, grocery stores and retail centers near major highways. The effort is tied to the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program, which aims to create a reliable charging corridor for long-distance travel.
Several of the selected locations are in northern Miami Valley communities:
-
Tipp City — Casey’s, 1981 Donn Davis Way
-
Huber Heights — retail site along Brandt Pike corridor (near existing Walmart charging hub)
-
Sidney — Love’s Travel Stop, 2241 Fair Road
Officials said sites were chosen based on proximity to interstate exits and access to amenities such as food, restrooms and retail, allowing drivers to charge vehicles while making routine stops.
The stations are expected to include fast chargers capable of significantly reducing charging time, supporting increased EV adoption across the region. Construction timelines have not been finalized, but the rollout is expected to occur in phases over the next several years as funding is distributed.
