Habitat Volunteers Deliver Park Benches, Picnic Table to Miami County Parks

Information from HAC

TROY - Volunteers with the Habitat Activity Center (HAC) delivered a picnic table and three park benches Wednesday morning to Lost Creek Reserve, with the items sponsored by Troy CARSTAR.

Representatives from Miami County Park District were on hand to welcome sponsors Tom Martin and Sandy Ziegler, including Director Scott Myers, Operations Director Dan Weaver and Office Manager Olivia Norris.

The donation is part of Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties’ sponsorship program, a funding initiative launched in 2024. Sponsorship packages, priced at $2,500 or more, fund the construction of items such as picnic tables, park benches and Project Playhouse builds, which are then donated to local youth-serving organizations.

CARSTAR sponsored additional donations of park benches and tables at to Flanagan Sports Complex in Sidney and Garbry Big Woods in Piqua.

Proceeds from the program directly support Habitat’s Home Repairs Program, which provides critical repairs and accessibility improvements for qualified homeowners. Since January 2024, the organization has completed 43 such repairs with support from sponsors, including Troy CARSTAR.
