Miami Valley Veterans Museum to Host Special Educational Program for Youth on May 2

TROY — The Miami Valley Veterans Museum is inviting families to bring children and young teens to a unique, interactive program designed to teach younger generations about the sacrifices and experiences of local veterans.
Aimed at children approximately ages 7 to 14, the program encourages parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, and uncles to introduce youth to the importance of military service and the individuals who have helped protect American freedom.

The event will feature firsthand accounts from two distinguished veterans:

Mike Jackson, a Vietnam War pilot

Penny Adams, who served as a lab and blood bank director aboard the hospital ship USS Repose during the Vietnam War
In addition to these engaging stories, children will participate in a variety of hands-on and educational activities, including:

A museum-wide scavenger hunt

A themed crossword puzzle

An art project

Music from the Vietnam War era
The program is proudly sponsored by members of the Kentucky Colonels.
