Poetry at the Hayner: A Mosaic of Voices" Event Set for June 14 in Troy
Information from the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center
TROY - "Poetry at Hayner: a mosaic of voices” is an annual poetry reading with a unique format. In the first hour, nine well-known, published poets will read from their own works. The intermission will feature hors d’oeuvres and a pop-up bookstore. The second hour is a rousing open-mic hour for 10 lucky poets to share their own poetry with the audience. The event presents the poetry community with current, dynamic and exciting new works by our regional writers.

Poet David Garrison curated the 2025 event by inviting nine featured poets from across Ohio and Kentucky including (pictured in order:) Arvilla Fee, Karen George, Joanne Greenway, Betsy Hughes, Mike Olson, Holly Brians Ragusa, Norman Riggs, Jr., Ron Rollins and Marlo Starr. These authors have been published in many fine poetry journals across the country. The poet’s publications and books can be purchased during intermission where you can meet these fine writers and network with the community of poetry enthusiasts.

On important item to note for this year’s event is that it will be relocated to First Place Christian Center at 16 West Franklin Street in Troy, Ohio. The event is free and no reservations are necessary. Join us on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Sign-ups for open mic begin at 6:00 pm. Readings begin at 6:30 pm.
