Shakespeare in the Park Returns to Lock 9 on August 8
Information from the City of Piqua
PIQUA - The City of Piqua is excited to announce its Shakespeare in the Park event on Saturday, August 8, with a free outdoor performance of “Much Ado About Nothing,” presented by the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company.
The performance will be from 7 to 10 p.m. at Lock 9 Park, 125 E. Water St., in downtown Piqua. Residents and visitors are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy an evening of live theater along the Great Miami River. The event is free and open to the public.
“Much Ado About Nothing” follows two sparring skeptics, Beatrice and Benedick, whose witty war of words masks something far more tender. Packed with mistaken identities, overheard conversations, and joyful chaos, the beloved classic is one of Shakespeare’s most enduring comedies. This production of “Much Ado About Nothing” is set in 1776 to honor America 250, the national celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
