TROY — Shipman, Dixon & Livingston Co., L.P.A. is pleased to announce the addition of Kyler J. Palmer to its legal team. Mr. Palmer joined the firm in April 2026 following his graduation from the University of Dayton School of Law, bringing with him a distinguished academic record and a broad range of legal competencies through his legal career.
During his legal studies, Mr. Palmer served on the University of Dayton Law Review and held the position of President of the Intellectual Property Law Society. Prior to law school, he earned a degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University and completed graduate-level coursework at Harvard University — a foundation that equips him with a uniquely interdisciplinary perspective.
Mr. Palmer is licensed to practice law in both Ohio and Maine. His areas of practice include Probate and Trust Administration, Estate Planning, Civil Litigation, Business and Commercial Law, Real Estate, and Appellate Law. He also serves as legal counsel for civil matters and criminal prosecution for the City of Troy.
An avid writer and legal scholar, Mr. Palmer has published several articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, including the DePaul Journal for Social Justice and the University of Dayton Law Review. His scholarship focuses on the intersection of the First and Fourteenth Amendments, contributing meaningfully to ongoing constitutional discourse.
Mr. Palmer is an active member of both the Miami County Bar Association and the Dayton Bar Association, reflecting his commitment to the Miami Valley legal community and his engagement with colleagues across the region.

The firm also announces that partner Andrew H. Johnston will be departing Shipman, Dixon & Livingston at the end of June 2026 to assume the role of Associate General Counsel for a large regional financial services firm. Mr. Johnston has been an integral part of the firm, contributing his expertise across a wide range of transactional and litigation matters throughout his tenure.
