Miami County Public Health Awarded $38,500 Traffic Safety Grant

TROY –Miami County Public Health has been awarded a $38,500 Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2026 Traffic Safety Grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO). Funding for this grant is provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

 

   The grant will support Miami County Public Health & Safe Communities efforts to reduce traffic-related fatalities and serious injury crashes through evidence-based strategies and community-focused programming. Funds will be used to implement approved work plans such as educational events, enforcement campaigns, and community partnerships aimed at improving roadway safety.

 

   “This award strengthens our ability to improve traffic safety in Miami County,” said Dr. Vicky Knisley-Henry of Miami County Public Health. “By combining education, enforcement, and community engagement, we can continue working toward the goal of reducing serious crashes and saving lives.”

 

   The grant term begins October 1, 2025 and runs through September 30, 2026.
