Purdue Bells to Perform Free Troy Mayor's Concert on April 25

Information provided

TROY - The Troy Mayors’ Concerts, Inc. Board is pleased to announce the return of the Purdue Bells for a free concert on Saturday, April 25, 3:30 p.m., at Troy’s First United Methodist Church, 110 West Franklin Street.

The Purdue Bells, founded in 1979, is the only instrumental group within Purdue Musical Organizations (PMO). Known for their versatility, the ensemble performs a variety of musical styles using five octaves of Schulmerich and Whitechapel handbells as well as choir chimes and an antique set of shaker chimes. Purdue Bells combines traditional techniques with innovative approaches, making each performance unique.

The Purdue Bells will be under the direction of William E. Griffel, the Albert P. Stewart Senior Director of Purdue Musical Organizations.

PMO students are ambassadors of Purdue University, bringing its legacy of musical performance excellence and student success to people around the world. Many marvel that Purdue provides so much in the field of musical entertainment, as the university has no school of music.

Thanks to the support of The Troy Foundation and individual and corporate donations,

Troy Mayors’ Concerts, Inc. is able to offer this concert free and open to the public.
