Cherry Street Market Partners with Community Rides to Offer Free Transportation

TROY – Cherry Street Local Farmers Market has announced a new partnership with Community Rides to Work to provide free Saturday morning transportation to the market for Troy residents without access to a vehicle.

   Rides are available to those living within the Troy city limits and must be scheduled by the end of the day on the Thursday prior to the Saturday market. Reservations can be made by calling Community Rides to Work at 937-396-9917 or in person at the market’s black and white information tent.

 

   Pick-up times are scheduled approximately 30 minutes before market drop-off. Riders may choose between a 9:30 a.m. drop-off with pick-up between 9–9:20 a.m., or a 10:30 a.m. drop-off with pick-up between 10–10:20 a.m.

Return shuttles from the market will depart every 30 minutes beginning at 11 a.m., with the final shuttle leaving at noon.

 

   Community Rides to Work vans are equipped to accommodate walkers, wheelchairs and strollers.

 

   The Rides to Market program is funded by a grant from the Priority Needs Fund of The Troy Foundation, the Miami County Local Food Council, and sponsorships from local businesses.
