MainStreet Piqua Announces 12th Annual Rockin’ River Duck Drop, 3rd Annual Jeep Cruise-In

PIQUA - Get ready for a “quacking” good time.
MainStreet Piqua is presenting the 12th Annual Rockin’ River Duck Drop and 3rd Annual Jeep Cruise-In on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at Lock 9 Park in downtown Piqua.
The community event will feature a rubber duck race, Jeep cruise-in, live music, contests and prize opportunities for attendees.
At approximately 6 p.m., hundreds of bright yellow rubber ducks will be launched into the river for a race, weather permitting. Participants can adopt racing ducks for a chance to win $1,000 or other prizes.
Those who do not adopt a duck before the event will have additional opportunities to win cash and prizes through the duck launch and raffle basket table.
Ducks are available for adoption at www.mainstreetpiqua.com, the MainStreet Piqua office, 326 N. Main St., Readmore’s Hallmark, the Down a River, Down a Beer event and the Piqua Farmers’ Market. Duck adoptions close at midnight Wednesday, Aug. 12.
The 3rd Annual Jeep Cruise-In will allow Jeep enthusiasts to display their vehicles while supporting the event. Jeep registration includes duck adoptions, and the first 50 registered Jeeps will receive a custom rubber duck keepsake. People’s Choice trophies will be awarded in five categories. Registration is available online and at the MainStreet Piqua office.
Event-day Jeep registration begins at 4 p.m. but does not include duck adoptions.
In partnership with the City of Piqua’s Lock 9 Summer Concert Series, the event also will feature performances by Back to the Blues and the Eric Jerardi Band on the Trevino Performance Pavilion stage.
Children also may participate in the Rockin’ River Duck Drop Coloring Contest. Coloring pages are available at the Piqua Public Library, Readmore’s Hallmark, The Piqua Center, Susie’s Big Dipper, Papa John’s, the YMCA, This ‘n That’s Candy on Main and Bits & Pieces Rolled Ice Cream.
“The committee has been hard at work planning a fun and family-friendly event and we are very excited to make this the best Rockin’ River Duck Drop and Jeep Cruise-In,” said Terri Chmiel, Rockin’ River Duck Drop committee chairperson.
