Rudy’s Smokehouse Expanding to Downtown Troy

TROY - Springfield-based Rudy's Smokehouse is expanding into downtown Troy with a new restaurant planned for 111 W. Water St., the former brewery building along the Great Miami River.

   The family-owned barbecue restaurant announced it will open its second location during the summer of 2026 following renovations to the building. The Troy location will feature the smokehouse’s signature slow-smoked meats, house-made sauces and made-from-scratch side dishes. Menu favorites at the Springfield restaurant include brisket, pulled pork, ribs, smoked turkey, wings, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread and macaroni and cheese.

 

   In addition to restaurant service, the new location is expected to expand Rudy’s catering operations and offer private event space. The renovated second floor will be available for in-house catered gatherings, providing additional event opportunities in downtown Troy.

 

   The expansion marks the company’s first location outside Springfield, where Rudy’s has operated since 2004. Restaurant officials said the Troy site is intended to serve residents throughout Miami County and surrounding communities while creating new employment opportunities in hospitality, catering and restaurant operations.
